Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 14, 2026
Last Updated: August 14, 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains the cookies, browser storage, and related technologies used by the MyFavi Autos editorial website, optional accounts, account-synced saved artifacts, public downloads, and newsletter. Public content remains available without signing in.
2. Necessary technologies
Account authentication
Firebase Authentication uses persistent browser storage and related identifiers to create and secure accounts, remember that you are signed in, refresh authentication, verify email addresses, and support password reset. Google may also use cookies or browser storage when you choose Google Sign-In. These technologies are necessary only when you use account features; you can browse public MyFavi content without an account.
Consent preferences
MyFavi stores your privacy preferences in local storage so the site can remember your choice. We may also store a server-side consent record containing the choice, broad region, Global Privacy Control status, source, and timestamp.
Saved guidance
Saved blogs, news, guides, deals, recalls, vehicles, and comparisons are stored server-side with your signed-in account rather than in an advertising or analytics cookie. Exact comparison selections may remain in local storage while you build a comparison. During migration, MyFavi may read older browser-only bookmarks and import valid items to your account after sign-in.
Google reCAPTCHA
MyFavi uses reCAPTCHA to protect account and newsletter activity from bots and abuse. Google may receive network, device, browser, and interaction information and may set or access cookies or related identifiers according to Google's terms and privacy practices. Protected actions may fail closed when verification is unavailable.
3. Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4
For visitors identified as being in the United States, limited analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off at any time through Privacy preferences. In regions where prior consent is required, and when a Global Privacy Control signal is active, analytics storage remains denied unless applicable consent is given. MyFavi does not send passwords, authentication tokens, email addresses, or URL query strings in its analytics events.
Google Consent Mode
MyFavi initializes Google Consent Mode with analytics, advertising, functionality, and personalization storage denied while it determines the applicable regional preference. It then grants analytics storage by default for United States visitors unless they have opted out or enabled Global Privacy Control. In regions requiring prior consent, Google Analytics loads only after consent. Advertising and personalization storage remain denied because MyFavi does not use targeted-advertising tools.
4. Technologies not currently in use
MyFavi does not currently deploy Google Ads remarketing, Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, cross-site behavioral advertising, unlimited cloud-synced saved lists, or personalized listing technology. We will update this policy and request any legally required consent before introducing materially different tracking.
5. Managing your choices
- Use the Privacy preferences button to allow or deny optional analytics.
- Sign out to end the active MyFavi account session on that browser.
- Use browser settings to view, block, or delete cookies, IndexedDB, and local storage.
- Enable Global Privacy Control; MyFavi keeps optional analytics off when it detects the signal.
Clearing browser data may sign you out, remove legacy bookmarks that have not been imported, and remove your saved privacy preference. Blocking Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, reCAPTCHA, or other required security technology may prevent the related account or newsletter feature from working, but public content remains available.
6. Third-party information
7. Duration
Authentication storage generally remains until you sign out, clear browser data, or the session is revoked or expires. Consent preferences and any remaining legacy bookmarks stay until you remove them, clear browser data, or the site replaces them. Account-synced saved artifacts remain until you delete them, close the account, or retention is otherwise required by law. Google controls the duration of its cookies and identifiers under its policies. Server-side consent and security records follow the retention practices described in the MyFavi Privacy Policy.
8. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when our technologies or legal obligations change. Questions may be sent to Drive@MyFavi.com. See the Privacy Policy for more information about personal data.
