Toyota recalls 508,354 Camry Hybrids over blank instrument displays
A software startup error can leave the 7-inch combination meter blank and make the turn signals, hazard lamps, and certain warning buzzers inoperative.

Why Toyota issued the recall
Toyota says an error can occur during the startup sequence for the 7-inch combination meter. The display can remain blank, reducing the driver's access to safety information, while inoperative turn signals and hazard lamps can prevent other road users from recognizing a turn or vehicle hazard. Missing seat-belt reminders can also increase injury risk in a crash if an occupant is unbelted.
The recall covers 508,354 U.S. model-year 2025-2026 Camry Hybrids produced from August 15, 2024, through June 9, 2026, with specific combination-meter software. Toyota's filing says field reports began in July 2024 and that the condition was later recreated in testing; it does not state a total report count or identify related crashes, fires, injuries, or deaths.

The filing identifies the blank combination meter as the visible condition. Turn signals, hazard lamps, and key or seat-belt reminder sounds may also be unavailable at the same time.
