    Use comparable local listings to set an asking price. Photograph the VIN label, exterior, interior, tires, odometer, and known flaws; remove the VIN photo from the public listing if it exposes personal paperwork.

    Screen the buyer and plan a safe meeting

    Meet in daylight at a bank, police safe-exchange area, or motor-vehicle office. Confirm a test driver's license and insurance, ride along, and do not hand over the title during a test drive.
